CRESS - Monuments (Remastered) CRESS - Monuments (Remastered)

Originally released by the mighty FLAT EARTH RECORDS in 1997, "Monuments" features 13 tracks of slow, heavy and menacing Anarcho punk played by these six lads from Wigan,UK.

Touring excessively around Europe with their rusty Transit, CRESS soon became legendary for their infamous old-school Anarcho-Punk 1-2-1-2 drum tempo sound and chanted hard-hitting slogans to fuse it to the modern D.I.Y. punk sound! - Slow, heavy and menacing mayhem riding along the lines of ANTISECT, FLUX OF PINK INDIANS with a pinch of KILLING JOKE, dark tripped-out sound effects and keyboard, loads of anger aimed at the desecrators of our earth. Punk!

Lyrics that are truly heartfelt and well thought out, straightforward and sincere, I can feel the compassion and conviction of the punk community when I hear these songs. This is the kind of stuff that keeps me going! It did so in 1997 and it does today! Nailed on my turntable.

Remastered in 2022 at Enormous Door and repacked in a heavy LP Jacket with additional double sided Insert, featuring lyrics and collages.

This is a one off repress of 1000 copies between RUIN NATION RECORDS (Germany), FIGHT FOR YOUR MIND (France) and PROFANE EXISTENCE (USA)

GLOBAL THERMONUCLEAR WAR - Total Demonstration LP

GLOBAL THERMONUCLEAR WAR - Total Demonstration LP

Global Thermonuclear War, a recording project that teams up Shite from Rigorous Institution and Karl, the drummer from Suck Lords and Crucified Class. "Seeking Mastery" sounds like something that might have come out of the late 80s UK, which makes when you think about it. Shite’s other band sounds a lot like Amebix, and bands like Napalm Death and Extreme Noise Terror adopted the metal-punk approach of bands like Amebix and Deviated Instinct, combining them with a Siege-inspired, blastbeat-heavy drumming—something Karl showed his facility with in his other band—to creative an exciting new sound. I hear a lot of E.N.T. in particular in Global Nuclear War’s sound, partly because there aren’t metal guitar leads and partly because the music is just so gnarly and ugly… it sounds like crawling on your knees across a bed of broken glass. And as with both Rigorous and Suck Lords’ music, Global Thermonuclear War’s songs are free of the obvious and the cliche. That’s true of Shite’s lyrics, which focus on the most fucked up aspects of today’s world: factory farming, economic “migration,” the bloody imperialist games of nation-states… the lyrics are as direct and uncompromising (though not as succinct) as Discharge, and have the plain-spoken wisdom of someone gifted with the ability to see straight through bullshit. Seeking Mastery is just a great tape, urgent, exciting, fresh, and punk as fuck. (Daniel / Sorry State)

CAVE SEX - s/t EP (one sided) 12

CAVE SEX - s/t EP (one sided) 12"

Cave Sex's 12" EP takes listeners on a journey through themes of anti-war, societal oppression, and the struggles of dissidents. Coming from a country like Singapore, where alternative perspectives are often considered politically unpalatable, there are people who fearlessly confront the status quo, providing a voice for the marginalized and silenced. Their music, cold and drenched with a distinct blend of post-punk, transcends boundaries with the sound of an industrial landscape with their unique blend of influences. Featuring aggressive driving rhythms, gritty guitars, pulsating basslines, a pounding blend of live and electronic drums, and synth-driven melodies. The writing process of this record mainly involves listening to a lot of Killing Joke layered by the politically charged raw energy of 80’s anarcho punk. Recorded by themselves in their smoke-filled, dingy practice space somewhere in downtown Singapore. Cave Sex critiques the relentless cycle of war and the military-industrial complex.

LONG KNIFE - Curb Stomp Earth LP

LONG KNIFE - Curb Stomp Earth LP

The third chapter in the decade long existence of one of the most depraved Portland hardcore bands ever. If you know, you know, as LONG KNIFE has channeled and perfected the POISON IDEA sound, though if you pay attention to their catalog, you can see how they have evolved into their own beast over the years, making the PI comparisons trite. Every song on this record offers something different, whether it’s keyboards, horns (yep), what sounds to be operatic gang vocals, or just straight up hardcore bangers. This LP still maintains the intensity, insanity, and aggression these maniacs are known for, though there seems to be a bit more melody thrown in under the chaos this time. The riffs, solos, bass licks and Colin’s vocals/lyrics are just as awesome as ever. And of course, the lyrics are just as cynical, disturbing, and well written as we’ve come to expect. There is no slowing down for these guys and the Earth is ready to be curb stomped again and again with LONG KNIFE’s fucked up pummelling songs for these fucked up times.
