CIVILISED SOCIETY? were one of the most recognisable names on the UK hardcore punk scene of the late 80s, and recently reformed, playing a bunch of shows over the past couple of years including the Rebellion Festival, followed by UK and European Tours which saw the release of the new “WAR IN MY HEAD” EP by ourselves last Autumn, which saw the band gaining supporters both old and new to their powerful live dynamics!

Now, to co-incide with their next tour in April, and whilst we await the new album and European tour due later this year, comes this timely double CD re-issue of their two 1980s albums (“SCRAP METAL” and “VIOLENCE SUCKS”) plus 4 bonus tracks recorded for various comps.

Released in co-operation with Boss Tunegae in the UK, this 25 track comp has been lovingly re-mastered and not only features both albums with original artwork, but also a booklet containing liner notes from Shane Dabinett, of Manic Ears Records, for whom the two albums were originally released.

Packaged as 2 x CDs in wallets recreating the original artwork, into card outer spined wallet with a 16 page full colour booklet

UK residents please order from Boss Tuneage Records.

Instead, the band tackles issues of veganism, politics, mental health, displacement, and feminism at a time when the world needs it the most.

CULTURE SHOCK - The Humanity Show 12

CULTURE SHOCK - The Humanity Show 12"

CULTURE SHOCK is an English ska punk band formed in 1986 by Dick Lucas, previously of THE SUBHUMANS. Over their initial history the band played hundreds of gigs, including frequent appearances at free festivals, and released three studio albums on the Bluurg record label. Lucas’ lyrics were mostly concerned with social and political issues, from cruelty to animals, Northern Ireland, war, and social alienation, but were far from angry rants, often finding a positive and empowering perspective. Culture Shock split at the end of 1989 - Dick went on to form Citizen Fish with Jasper, the bassist on Culture Shock’s final album, and two other former members of the Subhumans. Interest in the band was revived by the release of the Everything CD retrospective in 2012; CULTURE SHOCK reformed as a gigging band and have been playing since 2013. "The Humanity Show" is their brand new 6 song mini-album...

VAASKA - Inocentes Condenados 7

VAASKA - Inocentes Condenados 7" (IMPORT)

A lot has happened in the 3 years since the "futuro primitivo" 7" dropped in correlation with the band's 2016 Japanese tour, and now VAASKA returns to a world that's worse off with what could possibly be their final statement in the form of the "inocentes condenados" 7". Six tracks of smoldering, d-beat-based hardcore-punk which could arguably be the greatest recording session of their 10+ years as a band. Limited edition of 500 copies.

MURO - Ataque Hardcore Punk LP (IMPORT)

MURO - Ataque Hardcore Punk LP (IMPORT)

What is there that can be said about Bogota, Colombia's MURO that can even remotely rationalize the true force of nature that they are both in the recorded setting and as a live entity? The initiated know the deal but for those that don't... welcome! Originally released by the outstanding Nordic based Byllepest Distro label in 2017, the "ATAQUE HARDCORE PUNK" 12" was repressed for the band's explosive appearance at NOT DEAD YET 2018 and the Canadian tour that followed shortly thereafter. Channeling the ferocity of other regional greats while contributing a take on the genre that is undeniably all their own, Beach Impediment Records is honored to aid in the North American advancement of this modern day South American hardcore punk classic. Each record comes in a DIY style paper sleeve containing two massive poster inserts, all of which was screen printed and assembled by the members of MURO at their Casa Rat Trap Collective in Bogota. Keep an ear to the ground as there will be more to come from this outstanding group in 2019. Limited to 500 copies.
