Graue Zellen aus Rendsburg und Hamburg waren in den 1990ern DIE deutschsprachige Polit-Hardcore-Punk-Band schlechthin. In einem Atemzug mit But Alive, Muff Potter, Rantanplan und Dackelblut zu nennen und omnipräsent in den AZ‘s, besetzen Häusern, Clubs und Punkschuppen landauf-landab. 2001 war nach hunderten Konzerten, drei Alben, mehreren Singles, Splits und Samplerbeiträgen Schicht im Schacht. Die Band hatte sich in den Jahren vom klassischen Polit-Crust-Punk über Hardcore zu melodischeren (Post-)Punk-Tönen entwickelt, war sich dabei inhaltlich aber stets treu geblieben. Unmissverständlich politisch.
