CHUEKO – Tools of Oppression 7"
In the past few years Portland has produced some top-notch hardcore, most notably in the family of bands such as ALIENATOR, SUCK LORDS, REEK MINDS, etc. The latest installment of this cluster of weirdos is CHUEKO, with their four song debut 7”. Fierce fast, hard punk with solid paces, great tones (notably the bass, often taking the helm as the courier of riffage) and really catchy tunes. There are many nods to HC bands past, specifically 80’s USHC, but there is also a nice UK82 overtone, giving the songs a nice swagger, often bringing to mind GBH (in fact the intro for “Stupid People” is a direct homage to said band). This ep deserves to be on your turntable if you appreciate the aforementioned bands and hardcore with an emphasis on punk. No cheezy breakdowns or macho posturing, just steady driving slamming shit which will demand multiple flips of the record

BLOOD ROBOTS - S/t. LP
Another UK Anarcho punk Classic! Blood Robots started in 1982 and recorded 2 demos, a split flexi 7“ with Reality Control and a few compilation tracks. BARN AV REGNBUEN - Folk Uten Framtid LP
Discography LP from this 80s Norwegian Band from from Harstad in North Norway. "Barn Av Regnbuen" translates into "Children of the Rainbow" ... The band moved to Oslo near the end of their existence. In Oslo, brothers Tom and Roger formed LIFE ,BUT HOW TO LIVE IT? and Ulf started PUNCH DRUNK. Fantastic early document of Norwegian Hardcore Punk!

BAD JESUS EXPERIENCE - Kaikki On Hyvin 12"
11 short but intense ass-ripping slashers of Finnish progressive hardcore punk! BJE exist since a mere of 10 years now and already released three (3) 10" EPs but to many people this band remains pretty much obscure. It's a miracle to me how this could happen because in my humble opinion this 12" should be among the best hardcore punk records that ever came out of Finland. Includes members of Kyklooppien Sukupuutto and Totuus among their ranks. F**king mental!

AUSMUTEANS / PUFF! - Split 7"
Puff, a very dirty and ugly SCREAMERS but with guitar, a nasty DEVO touch and a pinch of No Wave elements, sounding as authentic as can be this side of the 1970s. Oh, and there is even some german ANGST, which is no wonder, PUFF is based in Berlin. Again in the late 70ties this time with the Ausmuteants ... Los Angeles sounds, , SCREAMERS (again), NERVOUS GENDER and a fistful of NEW BOMB TURKS, a bastard son called LOST SOUNDS or REATARDS, combining the best from before mentioned bands – with that extra aussie weirdness!
