CULTURE SHOCK is an English ska punk band formed in 1986 by Dick Lucas, previously of THE SUBHUMANS. Over their initial history the band played hundreds of gigs, including frequent appearances at free festivals, and released three studio albums on the Bluurg record label. Lucas’ lyrics were mostly concerned with social and political issues, from cruelty to animals, Northern Ireland, war, and social alienation, but were far from angry rants, often finding a positive and empowering perspective. Culture Shock split at the end of 1989 - Dick went on to form Citizen Fish with Jasper, the bassist on Culture Shock’s final album, and two other former members of the Subhumans. Interest in the band was revived by the release of the Everything CD retrospective in 2012; CULTURE SHOCK reformed as a gigging band and have been playing since 2013. "The Humanity Show" is their brand new 6 song mini-album

TERRA MATER - Holocene Extinction Parts I & II LP

Terra Mater from Australia is playing an unrelenting, down-tuned, strings-driven melodic d-beat hardcore with a modern-crust-edge and outstanding brutal female and male dual vocals. Extremely powerful lyrics, artwork and presentation. Taking right where SCHIFOSI, EKKAIA, ASHKARA MADAME GERMEN... left off. This release is very dark, heavy and melody driven.

AUS - s/t. LP

Berlin's AUS tap into the Heimatland's heritage of notoriously cold and humorless nihilism to produce a danceable sense of dread. When the rhythm section isn't driving us closer to armageddon it's providing a pounding tribal backdrop for brooding and disaffected witchy incantations. Distant guitars cut like broken glass and the synth rises up through the cracks like a blend of cigarette smoke and fog machine.

P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S. - Hot Tracks From Dead Wax LP

P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S. - Hot Tracks From Dead Wax LP

This album combines the four 7"s: "Gotta Get Away" - "Sweet Little Thing" - "Cold Cold Rain" and "Buzz Off". The originals are hard to find these days. P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S. consists of Portland hardcore / punk veterans who played (or play) in Pierced Arrows, Resist, Defiance, Detestation, Severed Head Of State (and many more) but don't get fooled because P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S. don't sound like any of these and file more under "total kick in the ass" punk rock'n'roll steamroller a gogo. This band is a power-house once they are loose on stage. You can say the same for when they are in a studio.
