APOCALYPSE / EXTINCTION OF MANKIND - Split 7
...

Los Angeles’s crust legends APOCALYPSE are back after a very, very long nap with three new bangers that prove they never missed a beat. Having formed in 1984, releasing a demo, a 7”EP entitled “Earth” and two split singles with TRANSGRESSION and MINDROT. APOCALYPSE disbanded in 1990 and after 25 years they came back with a new line up consisting of members from NAUSEA (LA), MINDROT and TEMPLE OF DAGON and a split 7" with EXTINCTION OF MANKIND. They just finished up a west coast US tour with anarcho punk greats Omega Tribes. The music is heavier than ever blending equal parts Discharge, Motorhead and Amebix while combining the social consciousness of Anarcho-punks like Crass and Crucifix! Expect lots more plans for 2019.

Extinction Of Mankind one track off this split was a long time coming, with E.O.M. having not released anything since their 2010 split releases with Phobia and Disgust. Only to follow up their split 7" with Apocalypse originally released on Madgrinder Records was followed up by their latest LP “Storm of Resentment”. Urgent and brutal metallic crust from one of the all-time great 'Reap What You Sow' shows how crushing and powerful Extinction Of Mankind are.
Two great crust bands from either side of the Atlantic teamed up a single piece of wax at the end of 2017 for a US pressing, now sold out it ain’t even on Discogs.

INFERNO - Hibakusha LP

INFERNO - Hibakusha LP

Another classic title from the german hardcore / punk history now for the first time officially reissued. The second full length "Hibakusha" from south germans INFERNO was recorded in summer 85 at the legendary Music Lab Studios in Berlin. 14 brutal songs recorded with a pinch of speedcore that were not to be surpassed in power at the time. The Japanese term "Hibakusha" is used in the Land of the Rising Sun usually in connection with the victims of the atomic bombing of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and is as album title already before the recordings. The recordings were remastered by Archie Alert (Guitar, now in TERRORGRUPPE). Cover and Lyricsheet has also been reworked by Howie (Singer).

REMAINS OF THE DAY - Hanging On Rebellion LP

REMAINS OF THE DAY - Hanging On Rebellion LP

Originally released in 2003, Remains Of The Day followed up “An Underlying Frequency” with ‘Hanging on Rebellion.” Where their previous effort was despairing landscapes of dereliction, interspersed with moments of hope, ‘Hanging on Rebellion” focuses on that desperate, frantic hope; the melody is heightened, the pace is quickened, the violin ever present yet out of reach in waves of heavy reverb over far more melodic post punk inspired guitars, howling screams and low growls and the very prominent pummelling d beat. It is this juxtaposition of almost etherial and intricately delicate melodies and the underlying crushing crust hardcore that is so evocative. Remains of the day perfectly captured the sound of an abandoned world of forgotten things; of expanses of pylons and withered trees, of cities lost to nature. Together with the likes of His Hero Is Gone. Madame Germen, Ekkaia and Tragedy, they would inspire a decade of epic, emotive crust. New Artwork by Alex CF.

HORROR VACUI - New Wave Of Fear LP

HORROR VACUI - New Wave Of Fear LP

Three years after their second album “Return Of The Empire”, the italian Vampire punx combo returns with their new full length „New Wave of Fear’’. The tunes got darker and less punk than their previous releases but, all in all, the formula hasn’t changed too much, and, hell yeah, this is a concept album about life and death. The A side has been named “This Side” and deals with things that belong to the world we’re living (immigration, the rise of the extreme right wing parties, terror, life in general etc.). The B side has been named “Other Side” and it’s all dedicated about death. It’s a more intense record and definitely better than their old ones, and you can also hear the crusty roots of some of the members in their last song where Amebix and Fields Of The Nephilim meet in a no men’s land to face the end of it all. Horror Vacui will tour in August/September along with their PDX dark merchant fellows Bellicose Minds.

PADKAROSDA - Tétova Lelkek LP

What a fantastic release: Budapest spikeys decorating their raw punk aesthetic with a good dose of darkness in the Eastern European tradition of bands like Tozibabe, Siekiera and everyone else Killing Joke rubbed off on when they used to tour behind the Iron Curtain.
