The highly productive PASSIV DÖDSHJÄLP are back with a split 12" LP. Pure crustcore power. Pure fucking hate. Passiv dödshjälp sound 2017 like they belong among the new breed of swedish crustcore. WOLFBRIGADE, DISFEAR, SKITSYSTEM and company but don't get fooled as this is not a clone! On the flipside you'll find FEAR OF EXTINCTION. A mighty fine crust monster hailing from Czech Republic with whole lotta attitude and untamed force! For fans of ANTI CIMEX or late WOLFPACK. The both bands are clearly a match on this LP. In short: A north/east d-beat lobotomy.

THE ESTRANGED - The Subliminal Man LP

THE ESTRANGED - The Subliminal Man LP

Since their last release, The ESTRANGED have dialed back the explicit aggression of their early singles a bit, and dialed up the textured, atmospheric, layered sounds of prime 80s deathrock/postpunk. A little less US influence, a little more UK… “The subliminal man” was painstakingly, impeccably recorded at Type Foundry Studios in Portland and features 8 new ones, a re-recording of “Statue in a room” (originally released as a split 7″ with Autistic Youth) and a rather stunning cover of The FLYS’ 1978 classic “Love and a molotov cocktail”. THE ESTRANGED - Static Thoughts LP

THE ESTRANGED - Static Thoughts LP

Portland post-punk act the Estranged recalls the early ’80s heyday of challenging, intelligent bands such as the Wipers, Wire, and Mission of Burma. Their album STATIC THOUGHTS thrives on the taut-muscled tension to be heard in Joy Division’s sinewy rhythms and squalls of guitar. “Don’t They Know” rides a penetrating bass line into spidery guitar webs; “Exhibition” is a moody, downbeat ripper similar to recent material from Hot Snakes. With a tightrope-walking sense of balance plus a relentless beat, the Estranged are revitalizing three-chord punk songs and discovering new-found possibilities.

THE ESTRANGED - Frozen Fingers 7

THE ESTRANGED - Frozen Fingers 7"

Newest release by Portland, OR post punk 3 piece The Estranged. Two “new” tracks recorded back in 2013 before their recent hiatus. This ep was scheduled to be released to coincide with their Australia/New Zealand tour in 2014 but for various reasons never came out. The first song, “Frozen Fingers” is a textured post-punk track with a constant ebb and flow like an upbeat version of something off a Nick Cave and the bad seeds or Echo and the Bunnymen album. With the climax coming via a farfisa lead that brings to mind some of the classic 60’s garage bands.
