EUTHANASIE was an late 80ties german anarcho punk band from the south german area around Freiburg that got almost forgotten due the fact that they never released anything except their 1989 Demo cassette and two compilation tracks. - This LP features said Demo plus compilation tracks as well as a very good Live recording from the "woodrock" festival. Remastered and polished you get 8 tracks of Melodic and distinctive anarcho punk with german and english lyrics. This is a GERMAN PUNK CLASSIC that was unknown for too long. Highly Recommended.

(Extreme Noise Terror) - musically they paid homage to the era of late 80´ties Crustcore just like DOOM and ENT, a raw noise of angry shredding voices of roaring guitars and pummeling drums... - ENE where basically a Dutch SORE THROAT with humor but still a serious message to come through. Heavily inspired by Amebix, and their crusty punk ambitions, Hellbastard also rose form England loaded with chunky guitar riffs and anarchist political views very much in place. When this album was issued, punk bible Maximum Rock N Roll described it as "Crass meets Metallica," - huhu. Founding fathers of the TM "crust" they went pretty quickly in the more-metal direction. "Heading For Internal Darkness" marks the crossroads, a brutal bastard of both worlds - cool to see it repressed now with "Deadlock" from the "They brought death" Ep.

The music itself is fantastic with a crusty sound that reminds a lot of scottish Anarcho/crust bands like Scatha, Sedition and Constant Fear Anaeroba have a great sound that is kinda of 10 years behind the sound of crust today which seems to be all the slowed down epic build ups and this is great as it is playing stuff that we love but it is only played by bands that seem not to exist anymore. There are too many crap fast-paced punk bands out there, and it´s a relief to hear an album like ´Agree To Disagree´ that shows a band that´s honest and genuine in their attempt to assault your ears.

This band is not too well known, even here in Minnesota, but once people hear this 7" they are going to be back on the front pages. Powerful and aggro hardcore similar to contemporaries like Negative Approach, the State, Mecht Mensch or Die Kreuzen. This 7" was recorded in 1983 and is re issued by permission of Reflex Records. Recorded at Blackberry Way by Steve Fjelsted and produced by Bob Mould of Husker Du.

Some members of the Schrottbar possé from Biel join up with folks from PACK, LOST and BRUTAL MASSACRE to deliver this 7" sized creepy monster packed with 4 massive and crusty tracks that also feature a slight hint of metal here and there. BURNT CROSS’S tracks are from their 3rd, 4th and 5th 7”s that are vibrant, uplifting and full of energy. Good song structures that will have you singing, dancing and shaking your angry fists in the air. A.U.K. contains former members of that old band the ALTERNATIVE, who had records out on Crass records. Like BURNT CROSS they are two brothers and both bands complement each other so well. 7 of their songs are upbeat, with plenty of punch in their catchy punk rock mayhem. But it is the last two songs of theirs that has captured my attention the most. ‘The Earth Dies Screaming’ and ‘In My Eyes’ are slower, darker and sombre in their musical approach. Kind of akin to THE MOB and KILLING JOKE, and have a real deep affect on me. A last cry for help because nothing else matters. No world, no us. This is an excellent CD." (Profane Existence)

Bérurier Noir is a French punk band formed in 1983. They called themselves "noir" (black) for the color of mourning (because their first concert was planned to be also their last) and for anarchy and "Bérurier" after the character from the novels of Frédéric Dard. Instead of being an end, the success of their first show inspired them to continue. Bérurier Noir´s music was clearly derived from British punk rock as far music and lyrics were concerned. Most of their songs were short, aggressive and usually based on a couple of basic power chords. Their lyrics reflected the typical concerns of punks: rejection of consumerism, politics, traditional social order and the anger felt by disaffected youth, tramps and outsiders in general. On the other, they added some interesting innovations. Their rhythm section consisted of a cheap drum machine, which became an essential and arguably endearing part of their sound. The frequent use of a saxophone as of the mid-eighties also set them apart from most other punk rock bands. - They would regularly appear on record sleeves and on stage wearing clown outfits, mock police uniform or pig´s masks. Ihr Sohn gehört zu den 1193 Menschen, die im Jahr 2003 in der Stadt des Karnevals von der Polizei erschossen wurden. Obwohl Brasiliens Polizei bereits seit langem den Ruf hat, eine der gewalttätigsten Ordnungsmächte weltweit zu sein, nahm die Mordrate in den letzten Jahren weiter drastisch zu. Opfer sind vor allem junge Schwarze aus den Armengemeinden. In dieser Dokumentation einer deutsch-brasilianischen Koproduktion der Filmkollektive AK KRAAK (Berlin), aTreVer und TV Tagarela (Rio de Janeiro) kommen AktivistInnen gegen Gewalt zu Wort, aber vor allem berichten die Favela-BewohnerInnen selbst ßber ihre alltäglichen Erlebnisse und ihren Kampf um Gerechtigkeit.

MRR #328 has hit the newsstands! This month we have an interview with Roger and Vinnie of AGNOSTIC FRONT, the last interview by Mr. Bruce Roehrs (RIP), from his all time favorite hardcore band. The PUFFY AREOLAS are continuing Ohio’s fine tradition of musical mutation, whilst SUPER WILD HORSES from Australia have been described as FLIPPER trying to play the SHOP ASSISTANTS, and we have some politically charged, female-fronted new wave from Macedonia courtesy of BERNAYS PROPAGANDA, which features ex-members of FPO. RAPE REVENGE from Canada is a mostly female, mostly power violence band, and DEATHRATS from DC are part of a crew of bands who are making sure hardcore stays harDCore in a most thrilling manner. Boston’s CONVERSIONS played driving complex punk inflected hardcore with some of the most ferocious female vocals. There are scene reports from New York City, and Brno in the Czech Republic, supposed to be one of the best places to play when touring Europe. We have cover art by Welly of long-running UK zine Artcore, and as always, the most extensive review section in punk, and all your favorite columnists!

This month we have some killer cover art courtesy of Avi Spivak of Humanbeing Lawnmower zine… And a delightful selection of content to match, starting off with U-Ron of REALLY RED, who offers a different perspective to the controversial interview with his former band mate John Paul in MRR #323. Japanese hardcore destruction comes courtesy of SLANG, alongside the definitive Scottish crust of SEDITION. Australia’s CIRCLE PIT provides some dirty punk, London England’s TRASH KIT brings to mind the post-punk energy of bands like New Age Steppers, Rip Ring and Panic; San Francisco’s HIGH CASTLE plays ragged, noisy, art inflected punk rock, plus we got some East Bay punk weirdness courtesy of STREET EATERS. MARCEL DUCHAMP from Chile plays politically charged and very raging hardcore, but we also got some brutal grind inflected hardcore represented by Florida’s own MEHKAGO NT, the long running and much loved RANDOM CONFLICT straight outta Alabama, and yet more twisted Midwestern hardcore from Michigan’s BUNNY SKULLS. It’s time for another issue of MRR! Numero 325, the June 2010 issue, features interviews with San Francisco garage punk TY SEGALL, plus we got Hungarian hardcore courtesy of RÁKOSI, and heavy noise wildness from Canada’s NÜ SENSAE. From England we have the WANKYS, who are aiming for a sound closer to CONFUSE or GAI than anything outta their homeland, and we have LOTUS FUCKER, who are also drawing from that Japanese hardcore sound with some added East Coast crust brutality, plus some heavy yet nuanced crust courtesy of MORNE from Massachusetts, and New York’s POLLUTION adding further mutations to the idea of what hardcore is. Chicago’s DAYLIGHT ROBBERY evoke the darkness of the WIPERS with the best male/female vocal trade offs we’ve heard in a long while. We have classic, genre defining Australian punk with X, just prior to their first ever US tour, some off kilter 1980s West Virginian hardcore from TH’INBRED, and the BAD SPORTS demonstrating some early punk influences filtered though a Texan lens. All of this, along with the usual news, columns and the most extensive review section in punk!

A brandnew Zine effort this time from Oslo (Norway) where there are not many of Punk Fanzines it´s cool to see that people are caring and getting back into DIY activism aside of playing in a Band or running a Record Distro. TOTAL BLACKOUT covers a huge part of international Anarchist topics mixed up with a healthy dose of punkrock and musical content.
